Announcements

    • New: 2008 Minneapolis-St.Paul Film Festival
    • The 26th Annual Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival runs from April 17-May 3. The festival features over 100 films from around the globe. This will include three films from the Czech Republic, including the documentary CITIZEN HAVEL; one from Austria; one from Slovakia; one from Romania; and two from Bulgaria. The festival also features over half a dozen films from Germany and one from Switzerland.
    • Most screenings will be at the 5-screen St. Anthony Main Theatres, near the campus and the Mississippi River. A few will be held at the Oak Street Cinema in Stadium Village. For further information, check the website.
    • Austria wins 2008 Oscar ® for Best Foreign Film
    • Austrian film director Stefan Ruzowitzky won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for his film, THE COUNTERFEITERS. The film is now playing at selected theaters across the United States.
    • A week before he accepted the award, he talked about the film at an event sponsored by the Center for German and European Studies, the Center for Austrian Studies, Sony Pictures Classics, Landmark Theatres, and TalkCinema. Click here for pictures.
