Scholarly Books

The Center for Austrian Studies, as part of its mission as a research center, has produced a distinguished series of volumes that include articles by outstanding scholars from North America and Europe. Most of them have their origins in annual symposia that the Center has sponsored or cosponsored, especially those published since 1989. These volumes showcase some of the best scholarship in the field and reflect the broad geographical and intellectual scope of the Center. Since 1996, all but one of them has been published as part of a series with Berghahn Books. This series was originally called “Austrian History, Culture, and Society,” and has been renamed “Austrian and Habsburg Studies.” Gary B. Cohen is currently the general editor.

The books published by the Center and by Berghahn Books are available through Berghahn Books. As with the others, they can also be ordered through campus bookstores, local booksellers, or online book vendors.
